Best Free AI Astrology Website: The 7 Checks I Run

Aashish MalikUpdated 5 October 20267 min read

There is no single universal best free AI astrology website. Judge any site against a 7-point checklist: stated ayanamsa, use of True Moon, Dasha depth, divisional charts, chart-grounded interpretation rather than generic text, data privacy, and honesty about its own limits. A site scoring five or more of these seven points is safe to rely on.

"Which free AI is best for astrology?" is the question I get asked most often now, more than "which astrologer should I consult". Fair question, because free astrology websites all look the same from the homepage: a zodiac wheel, a Sanskrit word in a serif font, a big orange button. Underneath, some do real ephemeris work and some print templates. These are the seven checks I run before I call any site the best free AI astrology website, and they take about two minutes.

1. Does it name its ayanamsa?

Sidereal astrology needs a stated ayanamsa. Lahiri is the Indian government standard; Raman and KP Krishnamurti ayanamsa are legitimate alternatives used by specific schools. A site that never mentions which one it applies cannot be cross-checked, and near sign or pada boundaries the roughly one degree difference changes real placements.

2. True Moon or Mean Moon?

Vimshottari dasha is calculated from the Moon's exact position inside its Nakshatra. Mean Moon is a smoothed average that can sit noticeably away from the real Moon, which pushes Mahadasha boundaries by weeks. Any site serious about prediction uses True Moon and says so.

3. How deep does the dasha go?

Mahadasha alone is a decade-wide brush. Mahadasha plus Antardasha narrows to months. Adding Pratyantardasha gets you to weeks, which is where timing questions actually get answered. A site showing only Mahadasha is not built for prediction.

4. Are divisional charts included?

At minimum D9 Navamsa, ideally D10 Dasamsa for career. Reading marriage from the D1 chart alone is how false predictions get made, because Navamsa routinely overturns a D1 conclusion. A free site that hides divisionals behind payment is withholding the part that changes answers.

5. Is the interpretation grounded in your chart?

Test it. Ask, or read closely, and see whether the interpretation quotes your actual placements: your Lagna, your Nakshatra, your running Antardasha with dates. Text that could apply to anyone born that month is a template. Text that names your 7th lord and its house is reading your chart.

The two minute test I use. Generate the same chart on the site and on one other tool you trust. Compare three numbers: Lagna degree, Moon Nakshatra with pada, and the start date of the current Mahadasha. If all three match, the engine is sound and you can move on to judging the writing. If the dasha date differs by more than a few days, one of them is on Mean Moon.

6. What does it do with your data?

There should be a privacy policy, a way to delete your saved charts, and no request for anything beyond birth date, time, place and an email. Aadhaar, PAN, bank details or document photographs are never needed for a reading. Treat any request for them as disqualifying.

7. Does it admit what it cannot do?

This is the check that correlates best with quality in my experience. Good tools say when birth time is too uncertain, when a dosha is cancelled, and when a question needs a human. Sites that find a severe dosha in every chart, attach a countdown timer to a puja price, quote remedies in tens of thousands of rupees, or predict illness and death are selling fear. Walk away from all four patterns.

Scoring it

Five or more of the seven and the site is safe for real use. Three or four and use it for chart data only. Two or fewer and it is entertainment. None of this correlates with how expensive the site looks, which is exactly why the checklist is worth running.

So which free AI astrology website is actually best?

There is no single universal winner, because "best" depends on whether you want quick daily guidance or a chart that survives scrutiny. What I can tell you honestly: a site that scores five or more on this checklist, states Lahiri ayanamsa, uses True Moon, and shows dasha down to Pratyantardasha, is doing the same core maths a paid astrologer's software does. Do not judge "best" by design polish or by a claim of "5 minutes free astrology ai" on the homepage, judge it by whether the numbers it produces match a second tool.

Is a free AI astrologer as accurate as a paid one?

For computing the chart, yes, accuracy comes from the ayanamsa and Moon calculation, not the price tag. Where paid human astrologers still add value is judgement: weighing conflicting factors, calibrating how severe a dosha really is, and deciding which single remedy or timing window to act on. Use the free AI tool for the chart and the learning, and bring a well-framed question to a human only when a decision is irreversible.

Myths about "free" astrology sites

  • "A free site cannot be as accurate as a paid one." Accuracy depends on the ayanamsa and Moon calculation used, not the price tag.
  • "More features on the homepage means better astrology." A long list of tools says nothing about whether the underlying ephemeris is correct.
  • "Every free tool is collecting your data to sell." Not true of every site, but true often enough that the data check above is worth two minutes every time.

What to do once you have picked a site

Do not keep hopping between three or four free tools comparing numbers forever, pick the one that passes at least five of the seven checks and use it consistently, since your own chart history and saved dasha notes are more useful than chasing a marginally different Lagna degree elsewhere. If a specific placement still confuses you after reading your chart, ask it directly in a free AI astrologer chat rather than regenerating the chart on a new site.

You can run every check above against our own free Kundli tool, which states Lahiri ayanamsa, uses True Moon, shows three dasha layers and sixteen divisional charts without payment. If you would rather see a shortlist we already scored against this checklist, our best free AI astrology websites page runs through it.

A real example

Run the same date of birth through three different "free" sites and compare Lagna output. On one real test, two sites agreed on the Lagna and the third was off by a full sign, because it defaulted to a generic timezone instead of asking for the exact birth city. That one mismatch cascades into every house placement after it. Use our free AI astrologer and check that it asks for exact birth time and place before giving you anything.

What this can't tell you

No checklist can guarantee a site's backend ephemeris is accurate, you can only verify that from the output matching known chart facts about yourself. If the Lagna or Moon sign a site gives you does not match what you already know, do not trust the rest of the reading.
