Quick Answer

Today's planetary positions list each graha's sidereal longitude, the sign it occupies, its degree in that sign and its Nakshatra with pada. Vedic positions use the Lahiri ayanamsa, so they sit about 24 degrees behind the tropical positions used in western astrology.

Sidereal, not tropical, and why the numbers differ

Western astrology measures from the moving spring equinox; Vedic astrology measures from the fixed stars. The gap between the two, the ayanamsa, is currently about 24 degrees. That is why a western site may put the Sun in Virgo on a day this page still shows Leo. Neither is a mistake, they are two different reference frames.

This table uses the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, the standard in India and the same one used across the rest of this site, so a position here matches what you will see inside your own Kundli.

Which transits actually change things

The Moon changes sign every two and a bit days, so it sets mood, not events. The Sun changes sign monthly, Mercury and Venus in a few weeks. These are the fast movers and they mostly time the small stuff.

The slow ones carry weight: Jupiter about a year per sign, Saturn two and a half, Rahu and Ketu eighteen months. Sade Sati, the Jupiter return, the Rahu-Ketu axis shift, these are the transits that mark a chapter change, and they are the ones worth watching on this table month to month.

Degree and Nakshatra, not just the sign

The sign alone is coarse. A planet at 29 degrees is about to leave and behaves like it; a planet at 1 degree is settling in. The Nakshatra and pada matter more still, because they decide the Dasha lord connection and, in KP work, the sub-lord that decides whether a promise in the chart actually delivers.

That is why this table gives degrees to two decimals and names the pada, instead of stopping at the sign like most daily transit pages.

Reading transits against your own chart

A transit means nothing until it lands somewhere in your chart. Saturn in Pisces is a career test for one Lagna and a health-and-expense phase for another. The same table above, read against your houses and your running Dasha, gives completely different advice to two people.

Sign in free and the Kundli tool overlays today's transits on your birth chart, with three layers of Vimshottari Dasha and KP significators, and the astrologer chat will explain the reasoning rather than just declaring a verdict.

A real example: reading one row of the table

Say today's table shows Jupiter at 14.32 degrees in Taurus, Nakshatra Rohini, pada 2. Taurus is ruled by Venus, so a Jupiter transit here brings together two very different significations: Jupiter's growth and optimism moving through a sign about money, possessions and comfort. The Rohini placement, pada 2, adds a fixed-earth, resource-building flavour rather than a fast or flashy one.

For someone whose 2nd house (savings, family wealth) falls in Taurus, this transit is read as a supportive period for finances, the strength of that reading then depends on their running Dasha, which is where the free chart tool comes in.

Who builds and checks this data

AstroFuture AI is built by the BEONE DEAL team. Every row in this table comes from the Swiss Ephemeris, converted to sidereal longitudes with the Lahiri ayanamsa, the same engine used for Kundli and Dasha calculations on the rest of the site. We validate new ephemeris or ayanamsa logic against established astrology software before it reaches this page.

What this table does not cover

It shows positions, not strength or outcome. A planet's sign placement alone does not say whether it is exalted, debilitated, combust or well aspected in your own chart, and it does not show retrograde status here. For the complete picture, including dignity and house placement, use the full Kundli tool after sign-in.
