Kendra-Trikona Raj Yog: the lord of a Kendra house (1, 4, 7, 10) and the lord of a Trikona house (1, 5, 9) are connected, by conjunction, mutual aspect, exchange (parivartan), or joint occupation. Other real Raj Yogas

Gajakesari Yog: Jupiter and Moon in mutual Kendras. Panch Mahapurusha Yog: any of Mars/Mercury/Jupiter/Venus/Saturn in own or exalted sign in a Kendra (Ruchaka, Bhadra, Hamsa, Malavya, Sasa respectively). Neech Bhang Raj Yog: a debilitated planet whose debilitation is cancelled by specific conditions, turns weakness into unusual strength. Why most Raj Yogas fail

Now look for any of four links between one Kendra lord and one Trikona lord: they sit together in the same house, they aspect each other (7th from each other counts always; Mars 4/8, Jupiter 5/9, Saturn 3/10 count as special aspects), they have exchanged houses, or one sits in the other's house. Strength before existence: the five-point test

Practising astrologers score each yoga-forming planet on five things before predicting anything. One, is it within 8-10 degrees of the Sun (combust, cut its power by half)? Two, is it in its debilitation sign without Neech Bhang? Three, is it in 6, 8 or 12 (dusthana, results come late and after struggle)? Four, is it retrograde, which delays results by years but often deepens them? Five, what is its Nakshatra lord doing, a strong planet in a hostile Nakshatra underdelivers. Score four or five of these positively and the yoga is live. Score two or fewer and you have a paper yoga.

What Raj Yog looks like in ordinary lives

Raj Yog in classical texts means rulership, not billionaires. In modern charts it shows up as a government promotion nobody expected, a small business that suddenly gets institutional clients, being handed authority over people much older than you, or a family name that carries weight in one district. If your Raj Yog planets are Jupiter and Venus but you are running Ketu or Saturn Mahadasha, the honest advice is preparation, not frustration. Use the hard dasha to build credentials, finish the degree, clear the exam, register the company, fix your health. Raj Yog versus Dhan Yog, do not confuse the two

Raj Yog is about status, authority and recognition. It does not automatically mean money. A person can carry a genuine Raj Yog and still live modestly if the 2nd and 11th houses are weak. Conversely, plenty of wealthy people have no Raj Yog at all, only a strong Dhan Yog. A single chart can genuinely carry more than one Raj Yog, Kendra-Trikona, Panch Mahapurusha, and Gajakesari can all coexist since they use different planets and different rules. In my experience most decent charts show one to three real yogas once you check strength honestly, charts claiming five or six active Raj Yogas are usually over-reading paper combinations that never got scored for strength.

Raj Yog combinations in numerology

Numerology has its own separate idea of a "Raj Yog" style combination, usually when your Life Path number and Destiny number both land on strongly favourable digits like 1, 3 or 5 together. A client's Kendra lord (10th house lord) and Trikona lord (9th house lord) sat together in the 4th house, a clean Kendra-Trikona Raj Yog on paper. But both planets were within 6 degrees of the Sun, combust, and the yoga stayed quiet for most of his twenties. What this can't tell you

Spotting a Raj Yog on paper cannot tell you whether it is strong enough to deliver, or when, without checking combustion, dignity and dasha timing together. A "Raj Yog" sentence on its own, without that strength test, is close to meaningless.
